The Souris Sabres are hosting the Minnedosa Chancellors this weekend with hardware on the line.
The two sides are meeting in the Westman High School Rugby League finals with game times at 11 a.m. and around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
"It’s the classic rivalry," Sabres’ coach Brian Yon told CKLQ’s Tyler Crayston. "Minnedosa and Souris, over the years, we’ve had some really extraordinary games and it always seems to be some type of a setting like a semifinal or final matchup. This year with both teams, the girls and boys, fighting it out in the final, it should be exciting."
Regardless of the results, both teams will advance to provincials next weekend in Brandon.
Souris finished the WHSRL regular season in first-place with undefeated records in the girls’ and boys’ standings, while Minnedosa was right behind them at 5-1.
