Jeff Stoughton will not be curling next season and is ‘stepping away from the game’.
The 51-year-old has won 11 Manitoba men’s championships, three Briers and two world titles over the course of his legendary career.
Stoughton made the announcement on twitter on Wednesday.
"Well it’s time! Stepping back from the game, that darn R word is just to hard to say! Thx to all but mostly thank you to my family!"
Stoughton’s current rink of Brandon’s Rob Fowler, Alex Forrest and Connor Njegovan lost in the semifinals earlier this month at the Safeway Championship.
