The usual suspects are accompanied by an unlikely underdog at the Viterra Provincial Championships in Portage.
10th seed Trevor Loreth’s teams has rolled through three wins in a row to make the semi-finals and play against heavy favourite Mike McEwen.
Top seed Reid Carruthers and his 2015 Manitoba champions from West St. Paul have advanced to the 2017 Viterra Championship final game with a 4-2 victory over reigning champion Mike McEwen.
The unbeaten Carruthers team has now won six games in a row and is a win away from the provincial title.
On the bottom side of the Page Playoff Draw, Trevor Loreth kept a dream run alive with an 8-3 win over #5 seed Jason Gunnlaugson.
After qualifying for the first time and then losing Friday evening, Team Loreth has won three in a row.
In the Sunday 9AM semi-final, McEwen meets Loreth for the right to play Carruthers in the 3PM championship final.
