Brandon, MB (CKLQ) – Dylan Myskiw stole the show on Tuesday night as the Brandon Wheat Kings picked up their ninth consecutive victory, 3-2 over the Kamloops Blazers.
The Winnipeg, MB native turned aside 43 shots including 19 in the 3rd period to earn first star honours and move to 5-1-0-0 on the season.
In their 4th game in six nights, the Wheat Kings got goals from Evan Weinger, Jonny Hooker and Baron Thompson on route to the victory. Garrett Pilon and Carson Denomie would reply with singles for the Blazers.
The Blazers, who are on their third game of their Eastern Division road trip came into the night winners of seven of their last ten.
Both teams would struggle to find chemistry on the powerplay, the Blazers came up short finishing the night 0/2 while Brandon did convert on one of their five chances.
Brandon is now a perfect 4-0 vs BC Division opponents, with wins over Victoria, Vancouver, Kelowna and the Blazers.
On this nine game winning streak, the Wheat Kings have outscored their opponents 43-26 and registered at least five goals on five separate occasions.
