Hamden,CONN (CKLQ) – Brandonite Kristen Campbell put on a show at the 2019 Frozen Four Tournament in Connecticut this past weekend.
Campbell became the first goalie in NCAA Women’s Hockey history to not allow a goal in the entire Frozen Four tournament. The graduate of the Brandon Minor Hockey Association posted three consecutive shutouts helping her Wisconsin Badgers win their first NCAA National Championship since 2011.
Campbell kicked aside 27 shots on Sunday in a 2-0 win over Minnesota to clinch the title capping off a weekend where she made 15 saves in a 4-0 quarterfinal victory over Syracuse and stopped 14 shots in Wisconsin’s 5-0 victory over Clarkson in Friday’s semifinals.
As a result of her stellar performance, she was named the tournaments Most Outstanding Player and earned herself first team All-Star Honors.
