If you grew up in the 90’s you’re probably very familiar with Animaniacs. The show really doesn’t need much of an introduction. The Warner Brothers, Yakko, and Wakko, along with the Warner sister Dot, were kinda 90’s cartoon royalty. They made a plethora of pop culture references, some jokes that definitely went over kid’s heads but made adults turn theirs, and were a staple of Saturday morning cartoons and afterschool tv.
This past weekend we got the first look at the rebooted version of the show coming to Hulu in November. In classic Animaniacs fashion, they do a parody of another 90’s icon Jurassic Park. Except instead of Sam Neil and Laura Dern seeing a living, breathing dinosaurs for the first time, they instead find the Animaniacs, which excites them even more. It’s funny, and definitely a sign of good things to come.
However, that’s not what’s gotten me excited today. I had my mind blown by a comment on twitter about how the characters got their names. The Warner Bros.(Yakko and Wakko) and the Warner sister Dot. Warner Bros makes sense, but where does Dot come from? Well if you look at the Warner Bros logo you’ll have your answer.
Do you see it? Do you see why she’s called Dot? It’s the dot at the end of Warner Bros.!!!! How did I never see this before?! It makes so much sense.
