I grew up in an era of manual typewriters, rotary dial phones, 3 television channels, and actually having to walk across the room to change them. I will be the first to admit that I struggle with technology. Sure, I can turn on a computer, follow Facebook, and text from my smartphone with the best of them but I just can’t seem to wrap my head around the fast paced advancements and terminology in today’s technology. It amazes me when small children can pick up a device and expertly execute any task on it like they were born with the ability. I remember being told by my son’s 4th grade teacher many years ago that they don’t teach handwriting becasue everything kids will be doing will be done on computers. Today is National Technology Day so while the rest of you are are Snapchatting and TikToking, streaming and uploading, and checking out your favorite apps, I’ll be over here writing in cursive, doing math without a calculator, and telling time on a watch with a face and hands.
