On February 21, 2023, at approximately 6:40 am, Brandon police received a report of a structure fire at a residence in the 100 block of Frederick Street. When police and Brandon Fire and Emergency Services (BFES) arrived on scene, there were visible flames and smoke billowing out of the residence. BFES immediately began extinguishing the fire. At approximately 7:15 am, BFES made entry into the residence and located a deceased male. He is believed to be the lone occupant from the residence. Brandon Police Service Major Crime Section and the Office of the Fire Commissioner continue to investigate the cause of the fire.

On February 21, 2023, police received a report of a theft of 2010 Dodge Caravan from the 200 block of 1st Street. The vehicle was stolen sometime during the early morning hours and 7:00 pm. On February 21, 2023, Brandon police received a report of a male laying in the middle of the road on Fred Brown Way. Police say a 23-year-old man was located, and this was allegedly the second time in the same day that police had received a call about this male causing issues on the roadway. As a result, the male was arrested for Breach of the Peace and lodged at the Brandon Police Service to prevent any further issues.

On February 21, 2023, police received a report of a female causing a disturbance at a business in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue. Police say she reportedly ran from the area without shoes or a coat on, and boarded a transit bus. The bus was later stopped near 34th Street and Centennial Boulevard. She was arrested for Breach of the Peace and lodged at the Brandon Police Service to prevent any further issues.

On February 21, 2023, police located and arrested a 38-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to comply with a Release Order x5. The male was lodged at the Brandon Police Service and appeared in court yesterday.
On February 21, 2023, police located and arrested a 28-year-old female who was wanted on an outstanding charge of Fail to Appear in Court. She was later released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear in court in March.
