The Manitoba government is extending key deadlines for applications to the Arts, Culture and Sport in Community Fund.
Sport, Culture and Heritage Minister Obby Khan announced in a media release on Monday (April 17), “The Arts, Culture and Sport in Community Fund helps strengthen Manitoba’s vibrant arts, culture and sport sectors, enhancing their ability to bring Manitobans together. Our government is investing up to $100 million in local arts, culture and sport organizations to support innovative community projects that help make Manitoba a great place to live, work and play.”
Key application deadlines have now been extended, the minister noted. Applications to the Small Capital Grants and Special Initiatives Program are now due April 24, while applications for the Large Capital Grants Program are due May 1.
Organizations applying for the Small Capital Grants and Special Initiatives Program can receive between 50 and 100 per cent of eligible expenses, depending on the project’s overall cost. The grant supports initiatives such as organizational development opportunities, training, technology, volunteer and equipment development, and those opportunities that will increase participation and engagement in arts, culture or sport programming.
Groups applying for Large Capital Projects can receive up to 50 per cent of eligible expenses over $300,000 to $5 million for projects that improve the quality, accessibility and availability of local facilities that support arts, culture and amateur sport activities and programs.
All applications submitted to ACSC@gov.mb.ca will receive a confirmation email within a week of submission. Applicants who do not receive a confirmation email should contact the ACSC program team at ACSC@gov.mb.ca or 1-866-626-4862.
