Break, Enter and Theft – UPDATE 4 Guns located
Original release from May 2, 2023:
On May 1, 2023, Brandon police responded to the 800 block of 2nd Street for report of a break and enter to a residence. The property owner reported that his truck, camper, and detached garage had been entered between 11pm on April 30th and 7:30am on May 1st, 2023. A gun safe had been entered and nine firearms have been reported stolen. Police are continuing to investigate.
UPDATE:
On May 2, 2023 at approximately 5:00 pm, police responded to a report of long guns located in another yard on the 800 block of 2nd street. Police attended and recovered four guns, which were confirmed to be among those stolen from the Break and Enter reported on May 1, 2023. This discovery also led police to learn that property such as two bicycles had been stolen from other neighboring properties in the same time frame as the B&E. The remaining stolen guns are still outstanding.

On May 3, 2023 shortly before 4:00 am, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a business in the 700 block of Victoria Ave E. Police say it appears the suspects forced their way into the business by breaking the glass door. Once inside they stole merchandise before fleeing. Police continue to investigate. On April 23, 2023, Brandon police responded to a report of a disturbance in a residence over pet dogs. Police say that during the disturbance, a 20-year-old man allegedly kicked a door at the home causing damage. The suspect was located and arrested on May 2, 2023. He was later released to appear in court on June 26, 2023 on a charge of Mischief to Property.

On May 2, 2023, shortly after 12:00 pm, police responded to a report of unwanted people in a residence. When police arrived to assist in removing the individuals, they learned one of the males was to have no communication with one of the other individuals. He was also the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant for Assault. A 52-year-old man was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today with a new charge of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

On May 2, 2023 at approximately 3:30 pm, Brandon police responded to a report of an intoxicated male causing problems in the 000 block of 8th Street. He was reportedly yelling while kicking ar parked buses. A 40-year-old man was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent his actions from escalating.

On May 2, 2023 at 6:30 pm, police responded to a report of the theft of merchandise from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. A 32-year-old male suspect was located and arrested in the parking lot. The stolen merchandise was recovered. The suspect was lodged at Brandon Police Service due to his intoxication level. He will be released once sober to appear in court on a later date.

On May 3, 2023 at 4:00 am, Brandon police conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of 11th street. Police say one of the occupants was to abide by a daily court imposed curfew. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on a charge of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

Arrest Warrants:
On May 2, 2023, police located and arrested a 19-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Probation. He was later released to appear in court on June 12, 2023.
On May 2, 2023, police located and arrested a 17-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order X2. She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.
