A tribute to a country legend, classic rock and roll and timeless music from the fifties and sixties will headline the Summer Saloon Entertainment Stage at the 2023 Manitoba Summer Fair.
In a media release, The Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba has announced that “highlighting this year’s Summer Saloon lineup is Saskatchewan recording artists ‘The Bromantics’ on Saturday, June 10th. Joining them will be ‘The Geezers’ on Thursday, June 8th – and a Tribute to the Queen of Country Music, Patsy Cline, on Friday, June 9th.
Formed in the summer of 2013, ‘The Bromantics’ are a six piece band that performs hits from the 50’s and 60’s. As well, they perform their own original music. With high energy sax, vintage guitar tones, accompanied by classic style harmonies, they are reviving the golden era of rock and roll with a unique sound of classic rock, Doo-wop, Motown and modern pop.
“They provide a high energy show,” says Summer Fair Chair Tim Rowan. “Combined with a nostalgic feel, these guys are sure to have everyone up and twisting the night away at the Fair.” “We’re so excited to have them come to this year’s Fair and I know that it will be a great show,” Rowan added. “The Bromantics popularity continues to grow across Western Canada and we feel fortunate to have landed them.”
While ‘The Geezers’ are a local rock and roll cover band, the Cline Show comes on the 60th anniversary of her untimely death in 1963. In the decades since, she has become a musical icon and inspiration to singers across the world. The show will bring the audience on a beautiful and informative walk through the rise and success of one of America’s iconic music legends.
