The United Way of Brandon & District held its 28th annual Holiday Magic Tree Trimming and Auction at the Victoria Inn on Thursday (Nov 30).
The event, in which local business groups and organizations provide Christmas trees and gifts to be auctioned, raised $24,000. Proceeds will be directed to the United Way’s three youth programs – Tools for Schools, Coats for Kids and Feya (Financially Empowering Young Adults), a brand new program for working individual’s ages 18-29 years old.
This year, 14 Westman families will benefit with gifts, hampers, and decorated trees courtesy of local businesses including Pattison Media, parent company of Q Country 91.5 and 94.7 Star FM.

In its 28 years, the event has raised three-quarters of a million dollars for the United Way’s youth programs.
