-Gabriel Vilardi scored a pair of power play goals and Laurent Brossoit made 36 saves as the Winnipeg Jets downed the Minnesota Wild 6-3 last night. Mason Appleton, Sean Monahan, Nino Niederreiter and Kyle Connor, with his 20th of the season, also scored for the Jets. Up next for Winnipeg – a Friday night game in Chicago against the Blackhawks.
In other NHL action on Tuesday – the Panthers edged the Senators 3-2 in overtime, the Avalanche downed the Canucks 3-1, the Capitals topped the Devils 6-2, the Islanders beat the Penguins 5-4 in overtime, it was the Rangers over the Stars 3-1, the Predators beat the Golden Knights 5-3, and the Kings were victorious over the the Blue Jackets 5-1.
-and Ontario’s Rachel Homan beat Manitoba’s Jennifer Jones 7-5 at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts on Tuesday to remain unbeaten at 5-and-0. Jones, who drops to 4-and-1, plays Kate Cameron this afternoon. Defending champion, Gimli’s Kerri Einarson is 5-and-1 and in second in Pool A behind Alberta’s Selena Sturmay (5-0).
