Another exciting summer of sport camps is just around the corner. Bobcat Summer Sport Camps have provided a fun training environment for decades and the summer of 2024 will feature new programs to take your game to the next level.
All summer camps will be held in the Healthy Living Centre and offer a fun and exciting way to continue growing a love of sport.
Led by Bobcat athletes and coaches, Bobcat Summer Sport Camps welcome players of all levels of experience. Whether you’re an aspiring star or just starting out, we strive to make the drills and games fun for everyone.
Learn both basic and advanced skill as well as game play tactics – a great way to continue developing down your athletic pathway.
Week 1
Boys Basketball Camp – July 29 – Aug. 2
The boys basketball camp is for students in grades 4 to 9 and focuses on skill development and game play. Sessions will be led by head coach Gil Cheung and players from the Bobcats men’s basketball team. Participants will be instructed on how to run an offensive system, how to run a defense, and advanced individual skills while promoting the basics of the game: dribbling, shooting, and passing. The boys’ basketball general camp runs from 9 am to 4 pm with an unsupervised hour lunch break at noon. The cost to register is $300 for the week and includes a Bobcat T-shirt. Evening Boys Basketball Camp – July 29 – Aug. 2
The evening boys basketball camp is for students in grades 9-12. Players will be led by head coach Gil Cheung and players from the Bobcats men’s basketball team. It will be a fast-paced, fun environment where participants will take part in drills and games. They will have an opportunity to work on and improve ball control, dribbling, passing and shooting. Week 2
Multi-Sport Camp – Aug. 12 – Aug. 16
Come be a Bobcat for the week! The Bobcats Multi-Sport camp is designed for active children from grades 1-5. Campers will be introduced to and participate in a wide variety of sports and activities including basketball, volleyball, flag football, soccer, ultimate frisbee, floor hockey, yoga and more. The camp will be led by our women’s basketball coach and student-athletes. The multi-sport camp is scheduled from August 12-16 and runs from 9 am to 4 pm with an unsupervised hour lunch break at 12 pm. The cost to register is $300 for the week and includes a Bobcat T-shirt. Evening Girls Basketball Camp – Aug. 12 – Aug. 16
The evening girls basketball camp is for students in grades 6 to 12. The camp will be instructed by head coach Jaime Taggart and players from the BU women’s basketball team. Participants will take part in various activities aimed at improving their abilities and each day will feature game situations to put those new skills to good use. The lessons and drills will be tailored to each student’s level of skill and ability, so that each participant gets dynamic instruction and demonstration on how to properly execute basketball skills. Week 3
General Volleyball Camp – Aug. 19 – Aug. 23
The Bobcats general volleyball camp is for students in grades 4 to 10. The camp will be led by coaches and players from the BU men’s and women’s volleyball teams, and features a day of skills, drills and games with participants taking part in various activities aimed at improving their overall abilities in volleyball. Game situations will be offered each day, allowing participants to put their newly acquired techniques to good use. The volleyball general camp is scheduled from August 19 to 23 and runs from 9 am to 4 pm with an unsupervised hour lunch break at noon. The cost to register is $300.00 for the week. Week 4
Volleyball Skills and Position Camp – Aug. 26 – Aug. 30
The Bobcats Skills and Position camp is for students in grades 7-12. The camp will be led by coaches and players from the men’s and women’s Bobcat volleyball teams. Each day will feature a different skill and learning objective including skills such as serving, receiving, setting, attacking, and blocking. Volleyball JV Team Play Camp – Aug. 26 – Aug. 30
The Bobcats JV Team Play camp is for students going into grades 7-10 of all skill levels. Led by Bobcat coaches and players, the activities will be focused on team play in preparation for school seasons in the fall and give students an opportunity to train with and compete against the best in the region. Volleyball SV Camp – Aug. 26 – Aug. 30
The Bobcats Senior Varsity team play volleyball camp is for students going into grades 10-12. The activities will be focused on team play in preparation for school seasons in the fall and give students an opportunity to train with and compete against the best in the region.
