-The Winnipeg Jets carry a 4-game winning streak into Dallas tonight. The Stars, who top the Central Division, have won all three meetings against the Jets this season.
-The OCN Blizzard beat the Steinbach Pistons 4-2 in Game 3 of their MJHL semi-final series to lead 2-1. Game 4 goes tonight. The other series also resumes tonight with the Winkler Flyers in Virden against the Oil Capitals. Virden leads 2-1.
-Canada takes on Sweden this afternoon in the quarterfinals at the 2024 World Women’s Hockey Championship in Utica, New York. The Canadians finished the preliminary round in second place in Group A. The United States faces Japan, Finland meets Switzerland and Czechia plays Germany in the other three quarterfinals.
-Manitoba’s Jennifer Jones is now 1-and-2 at the Players Championship after Wednesday’s draws. The season-ending tournament will be the last Grand Slam event for Jones, who’s retiring from four-player curling. Manitoba’s Kerri Einarson and Kaitlyn Lawes are still winless, Matt Dunstone is 1-and-1 – and Brad Jacobs with Reid Carruthers as third is 1-and-2.
-and the Seattle Mariners avoided the sweep by beating the Toronto Blue Jays 6-1. The Jays host the Rockies tomorrow.
