-The Winnipeg Jets won their 5th straight game beating the Central-Division leading Dallas Stars 3-0. Laurent Brossoit made 24 saves for the shutout. The Jets wrap-up their road trip in Colorado tomorrow. Winnipeg and Colorado have three games left and are tied for second place in the Central Division with 104 points each.
-The OCN Blizzard have taken a 2-1 lead in their MJHL semi-final series after a 4-2 win over the Steinbach Pistons – and the Winkler Flyers edged the Virden Oil Capitals 5-4 win in double overtime to tie their series at two.
-Canada plays Czechia – and the U-S meets Finland in Saturday’s semifinals at the world women’s hockey championship
-At the Grand Slam of Curling’s Players Championship – Manitoba’s Jennifer Jones is 1-and-3 heading into today’s draws. Kaitlyn Lawes and Kerri Einarson are 0-and-3. On the men’s side – Brad Jacobs with Reid Carruthers is 2-and-2 – and Matt Dunstone sits at 1-and-3.
-and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers made an operating profit of $5.7 million in 2023. Total revenue increased by 11-percent to $50.5 million. The Blue Bombers have led the CFL in attendance in each of the last two seasons. Last year’s average was 30,449 and featured five consecutive sellouts. The Bombers are 37-and-3 at home dating back to the fall of 2018.
