-The Winnipeg Jets play their final regular season game tonight against the Vancouver Canucks. The Jets will meet the Colorado Avalanche in the first-round of the playoffs – while the Canucks, who finished 1st in the Pacific Division, will take on the Nashville Predators in the opening round.
-The defending Manitoba Junior Hockey League champion Steinbach Pistons beat the OCN Blizzard 2-0 to advance to their 3rd straight Turnbull Cup final. They’ll face the Winkler Flyers on Friday in Game 1.
-Veteran skip Brad Jacobs has parted ways with Reid Carruthers and his Manitoba-based curling team. He’s reportedly joining Marc Kennedy, Brett Gallant and Ben Hebert, former teammates of Alberta’s Brendan Bottcher, for next season.
-and the New York Yankees beat the Blue Jays 6-4 yesterday to avoid the sweep. Toronto is in San Diego on Friday.
