This month, for the third consecutive season, PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada will buck into Brandon. For one night only, on May 25, the nation’s premier bull riding tour will take over Westoba Place for the PBR Mazergroup Chute Out.
Marking just the fourth Cup Series event of 2024, riders will be vying for crucial points as the race for the 2024 PBR Canada Championship, and accompanying $100,000 bonus, begins to ramp up. At present, the Top 17 in Canada are separated by 400 points or less.
Fans will witness exhilarating 8-second rides and wrecks throughout the action-packed event as the PBR’s courageous bull-riding athletes face off against their 2,000-pound opponents.
When the Cup Series last travelled to Brandon in May 2023, in front of a near-capacity crowd, Aaron Roy delivered a flawless 2-for-2 performance to win the tour stop. Courtesy of the win, Roy garnered a crucial 116 national points, vaulting from No. 11 to No. 3 in the fierce title race.
Despite being shutout in Brandon in 2023, Dakota Buttar delivered a strong second-half showing during the regular-season, and runner-up result at the National to be crowned the 2023 PBR Canada Champion, narrowly edging Nick Tetz, who finished seventh in Brandon last season, by 38.84 points. In winning the 2023 title, Buttar became just the fourth multi-time national Champion in PBR Canada history.
