On the morning of 2024-05-27, Brandon police attended to the area of Sunset Place after receiving a report of an unknown individual sleeping in a homeowner’s vehicle. A check of police records for a 30-year-old male revealed two outstanding warrants of arrest. The individual has been lodged at BPS and will appear in court 2024-05-28.
Assault/Theft Under/Warrant
On the afternoon of 2024-05-27, police attended to a business at the Corral Centre after receiving a report of a shoplifter. Police say a Loss Prevention employee had attempted to conduct an arrest of a 26-year-old female, whereby the individual allegedly proceeded to physically assault the employee by kicking him in the groin. No medical attention was required. A check of police records for the accused revealed an outstanding warrant of arrest for failing to attend court on 6 pending charges which includes Assault with a Weapon. The individual has been lodged at BPS and will appear in court for the warrant and new charges.
Warrant
On the afternoon of 2024-05-27, Brandon police attended to the 1500 block of Stickney Avenue for a report of a highly intoxicated male who was walking in traffic. A check of police records revealed an outstanding warrant of arrest. The 36-year-old male was lodged at BPS and will be released once sober with conditions to appear in court 2024-06-24.
FTC Release Order
On the evening of 2024-05-27, police attended to the 300 block of Dennis Street as an 18-year-old female was reportedly found to have previously breached her court ordered curfew conditions. The individual has been lodged at BPS and will appear in court 2024-05-28 for the charges of Failure to Comply with Release Order X2.
Theft Under $5000
On the evening of 2024-05-27, Brandon police attended to a business at the Corral Centre after receiving a report of a shoplifter. Police say a 41-year-old female had allegedly stolen $380 of merchandise which was recovered by the business. Subsequent to arrest, officers say a Mastercard that was previously reported stolen was found in the individual’s possession. The accused has been released with conditions to appear in court 2024-07-22 for the charges of Theft Under $5000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
Warrant
On the evening of 2024-05-27, police attended to an address in the 600 block of 13th Street to conduct a check for an individual with an outstanding warrant. A 28-year-old male has been released with conditions to appear in court 2024-07-16.
CDSA PPT Cocaine/Possess Proceeds of Crime
On the evening of 2024-05-27, Brandon police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 1000 block of Princess Avenue. Police say officers seized 1 ounce of Cocaine (street value $1600) and $1200 in cash. The 3 occupants consisting of a 41-year-old male, a 19-year-old female, and a 21-year-old female have been released with conditions to appear in court 2024-08-08 for the charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine, and Possession of Proceeds of Crime.
Breach of Peace
On 2024-05-28, police attended to a residence on Baffin Lane for as a 49-year-old male was causing a disturbance. The individual has been lodged at BPS and will be released in the morning.
