Assault With A Weapon
On June 6th, 2024, Brandon police arrested a 15 year old male for two counts of assault with a weapon and disguise with intent. On May 29, 2024, police received a call of three youth chasing someone with a machete in the 1200 block of 22nd Street. Police say the victim was located, but was not willing to talk with officers. Police were able to obtain video surveillance of the incident, which they say showed 3 male youth with bear spray and the accused with a machete. He was held for court on June 7, 2024.
Breach of Peace
On June 6th, 2024, police received a call that an 18 year old male was highly intoxicated and family was concerned for his wellbeing. Police located the man in the 1100 block of 3rd Street and he was arrested for a Breach of Peace. He was held overnight and will be released in the morning.
Breach of Peace
On June 7th, 2024 at 12:00 am, police were called to the 800 block of 7th Street where two suspects were allegedly rummaging through vehicles. Police say one suspect fled on foot, while one highly intoxicated 20 year old male was arrested on scene. No damage or missing items to vehicles. Male was arrested for Breach of Peace and will be released in the morning.
Arson / Structure Fire
On June 7th, 2024 at 12:30 am, Brandon police were called to a structure fire in the Corral Center. Police say two Adirondack chairs at the front entrance had been set on fire, and the fire spread to the building. Brandon Fire Department quickly extinguished the blaze, however smoke and water damage had occurred. The situation remains under investigation.
Child Pornography
On June 6th, 2024, Brandon Police executed a search warrant in the 300 block of 14th Street as they received information that a resident had been accessing child pornography. An 18 year old male was arrested without incident and released with a future court date of August 15, 2024.
Breach of Court Order
On June 6th, 2024 at approximately 3:19 pm, police received a call indicating a male was at a residence in the 100 block of 6th Street against his court ordered condition. A 39 year old male was arrested and held for court on June 7th, 2024.
Arrest Warrant/ Mischief and Theft / Drug Possession
On June 6th, 2024 at 4:00 pm, police conducted a pedestrian check on two individuals in the back lane of the 500 block of 22nd Street. Police say a 36 year old male was arrested. He was reportedly found to have 3 outstanding warrants for failing to attend court and theft. The male was also found in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine. He was later released for court on July 11, 2024.
