Theft Under $5000
On June 12th at 12:40pm, Brandon police attended to a residence in Confederation Bay and arrested a 20 year old male on a theft charge. On June 7th, police received a report of a stolen bike in the 700 block of 12th Street. The incident was caught on video surveillance and a suspect was identified. Police say he was also found to have an outstanding warrant for break and enter and possession of a weapon. He was held for court on June 13th, 2024.
Breach of Probation
On June 12th at 4:00pm, police were called to a business in the 1500 block of 18th Street for a robbery. Police say security staff from the business had detained a male for alleged shoplifting, not robbery. A 43 year old male was arrested, and officers say he was also found to be breaching his probation order by possessing an incendiary device. The store declined to press charges on the shoplifting matter. He was released for court on July 29, 2024.
Breach of Peace
On June 12th at 8:07pm, someone was banging on the side door of the Brandon Police Service. When police opened the door, the male asked the officer if he wanted to fight and was acting aggressively. A 34 year old male was arrested and lodged to prevent further issues. He will be released in the morning.
Mischief under $5000
On June 12th at 6:23pm, police received a call of a disturbance to a business in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue. A female was reportedly trying to break down the door of the vendor and had damaged the door frame. When officers arrived, another female reported that she had been assaulted by the suspect. An 18 year old female was arrested. She was also found to be breaching her 24 hour curfew. She was held for court on June 13, 2024.
Intoxicated Person
On June 12th at 8:20pm, police received a call to the 100 block of 18th Street for a wellbeing check for someone lying on the grass. An intoxicated 45 year old male was arrested. He will be released in the morning.
Breach of Peace
On June 12th at 11:49pm, Brandon police were called of a disturbance at a residence in the 1200 block of 9th Street. A 20 year old female was arrested. She will be released in the morning.
Intoxicated Person
On June 13th at 00:52am, police received a call of a disturbance at a residence on Ptarmigan Way. An intoxicated 23 year old male was arrested as he was found to be the cause of the issues. He will be released in the morning.
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
On June 13th at 0:2:56am, Brandon police conducted a vehicle check on Westaway Bay. Officers say that a backpack with a box of ammunition was visible in the vehicle, and a further search turned up a stolen handgun, laptop and printer. A 20 year old female and a 36 year old female were arrested. The older female was held for court on June 13th, 2024. The younger female was released for court on August 22nd, 2024.
