The Brandon AAA U18 Wheat Kings have announced that Travis Mealy will be returning as Head Coach for the 2024-2025 season.
The team said in a social media post, “After a remarkable season with the team we are looking forward to his leadership on the bench again with our program.” It was also announced that Paul Mandziuk will be on the bench as an Assistant Coach, and that Dylan Halliday is a new addition to the coaching staff.
Dylan is a program Alumni, playing 2 seasons with the Wheat Kings from 2016-2018 before moving on to the MJHL Virden Oil Capitals for the next four seasons. In 2022, Dylan began his path towards player development, joining the Brandon U17 AAA Wheat Kings as Assistant Coach and the Western Canada Hockey Academy as an On-Ice Development Coach. In the most recent 2023-2024 season, Dylan was named Head Coach of the U17 AAA Wheat Kings where he lead the team to the league semi finals.
