-Game 7 of the Stanley Cup final goes tonight in Florida between the Panthers and Edmonton Oilers. The Oilers battled back from a 3-0 series deficit to force a final deciding game. The only team in NHL history to rally from being down o-and-3 and win the Cup was the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs.
-In the CFL on Sunday – The Saskatchewan Roughriders improved to 3-and-0 after beating the Hamilton Tiger Cats 36-20. The still winless Winnipeg Blue Bombers are next in action this coming Saturday in Calgary against the Stampeders.
-On Sunday at Euro 2024 – Germany and Switzerland tied at 1 – and Hungary topped Scotland 1-nil.
-In the South West Baseball League – the defending champion Boissevain Centennials beat the Virden Oilers 4-3 Sunday afternoon. Later, the Oilers outscored the Wawanesa Brewers 8-6. The Deloraine Royals won a pair of road games: 9-8 over Hamiota and 3-2 over Oak River – and the Rivers Comets downed the Reston Rockets 13-3.
-and Scottie Scheffler won the Travelers Championship for his sixth win of the year – the most in one season on the PGA Tour since Tiger Woods had six in 2009. Scheffler beat South Korea’s Tom Kim on the first hole of sudden death.
