Stolen Vehicle
On July 1st at 5:15AM police initiated a traffic stop in the 400 block of the Trans Canada Highway. As soon as the vehicle stopped, the male driver and female passenger fled on foot. Both persons were captured after a foot pursuit and K9 track. The vehicle was found to be stolen. An 18-year-old male and an 18-year-old female were arrested. A court date of August 26th has been set.
Warrant Executed
On July 1st at 1:22PM police attempted a person check in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue. The male on a pedal bike tried to flee. He was soon located and found to have outstanding warrants of Assault with a Weapon and Possessing a Weapon. He was charged with Resisting Arrest. He was later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of August 14th for previous charges and September 19th for the new charge.
Warrant Arrest
On July 1st at 2:00PM police identified a 29-year-old female on the 1500 block of 10th Street with an outstanding Failure to Attend Court Warrant. The female was released with an Appearance Notice for court on July 25th.
Breach of Probation Order
On July 1st at 8PM police were called to an establishment in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue as a male who had been banned was reportedly on the premises. Upon police arrival the suspect fled. Officers apprehended the suspect after a short foot pursuit. The male was arrested and later released with a court date of August 26th for his charges of Failure to Comply with Probation Order and Resisting Arrest.
Residential Break-In
On July 1st at 8:15PM police were called to a report of a break-in in the 600 block of 21st Street. The homeowner had been away for several days and returned to find her garage man door kicked in and her house “trashed”. Police continue to investigate. Breach of Peace
On July 1st at 10:40PM police were called to a residence on Fairbairn Place where an intoxicated female had allegedly kicked in a door and refused to leave. The 21-year-old female was removed from the residence without charge as per the homeowner. The female was lodged and will be released once sober.
Resisting Arrest/ Consuming Liquor while Underage
On July 1st 2:25AM police were called to the 600 block of Park Street where an intoxicated female youth was allegedly causing a disturbance. The 17-year-old female was reportedy arguing with her partner and refused to leave the residence when requested by officers. Police say she resisted arrest and kicked an officer. She was arrested for Resisting Arrest and Consuming Liquor Underage. She will be lodged until sober. Court date to be determined.
