On July 18th police located and arrested several individuals throughout the day who were wanted on outstanding warrants:
-A 23-year-old female was arrested on a failure to attend court charge. The female was found highly intoxicated and was lodged to be released once sober on an Appearance Notice with a court date set for August 15th, 2024.
-A 23-year-old female attended Brandon Police Service to see if her friend was in jail. She herself had an outstanding warrant for Armed Robbery. She was arrested and lodged for court in the morning on July 19th, 2024.
-A 22-year-old male was arrested on the charge of Possession of Ammunition. Lodged for court in the morning on July 19th, 2024.
-A 21-year-old male was charged with Pointing a Firearm and Possession of Dangerous Weapon. Court date set for September 26th, 2024.
Break and Enter
On July 18th there was report of a break and enter to a business in the 500 block of Rosser Avenue at approximately 4:00AM. With the aid of security footage, a 48-year-old male was located and arrested. Court date set for July 19th, 2024.
Possession of Meth
On July 18th police were called to a business in the 500 block of 8th Street. A woman was reportedly attempting to steal items from the store. Upon being arrested she was allegedly found to have personal use methamphetamine. She was released on an Appearance Notice with charges of Possession of Meth and a court date is set for September 12th, 2024.
Robbery
On July 18th at 9:47PM police received a call from a business in the 900 block of 18th Street. They suspected a shoplifter, however upon approaching the male he allegedly pulled a knife. Security followed the suspect assisting police in locating the 34-year-old male. Officers say he was found to have 2 folding knives on his person. He was lodged overnight for court in the morning on July 19th, 2024. Charges are Robbery with a Weapon, Possession of Dangerous Weapon, and Possession of Break-In Instruments.
