In a social media post today, The City of Brandon said “You may have noticed that construction is done on 18th Street and traffic is back to normal.
The City of Brandon’s portion of the construction project, which included work to repair underground watermains and sewers, has now been completed.
This paves the way for the Province to complete the next portion, which includes paving.”
The Provincial government had indicated before the start of the city’s portion of the repairs that it intended to repave 18th from Rosser Avenue to Aberdeen by October 1. A seasonal shutdown date has been set for October 15. During construction, the contractor will be required to keep at least one lane of traffic open in each direction at all times.
The city says “all inquiries regarding work completed by the Province should be directed to Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation.”
