An RCMP traffic stop in the RM of Woodlands led to a seizure of drugs, cash, and loaded firearms on Friday, August 16, and a man police say is wanted in Brandon was caught up in the same traffic stop.
According to an RCMP release, they stopped a vehicle at about 2:15 PM that day on Highway 6. That stop led to the arrest of both the driver and passenger, and a search of both their vehicle and their persons.
Police say they seized a loaded handgun, rifle, ammunition, suspected crack cocaine and heroin individually bagged, approximately $10,000.00 in Canadian currency and other drug paraphernalia as a result of the search.
One of the people they arrested, a 24-year-old Brandon man, was charged with over 20 weapon and drug offences. He was also wanted on two warrants out of Brandon and was breaching several conditions on a release order.
RCMP have said they are continuing to investigate.
