Several Warrants Were Executed in the Past 24 Hours:
-A 14-year-old male turned himself in to BPS on an endorsed warrant for Failure to Comply. He was released on an Appearance Notice with court on October 1st, 2024.
-At 2:45PM police were called to assist in removing an unwanted person from a residence in the 100 block of Victoria Avenue. The 29-year-old female had an endorsed Warrant of Arrest for Failure to Comply with Undertaking. Released on Appearance Notice with court date of October 7th, 2024.
-At 3:20PM police located a 29-year-old female at her residence due to a Failure to Attend Court charge. She was lodged at BPS for court in the morning on September 4th, 2024.
-At 5:44PM police conducted a persons check which confirmed an endorsed Failure to Attend Court warrant. The 17-year-old male was released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of October 1st, 2024.
-At 4:21AM police attended a residence in the 700 block of 8th Street and located a 19-year-old man wanted on several warrants. He was arrested and lodged for court in the morning on September 4th, 2024, with charges of Failure to Comply with Undertaking X2, Failure to Attend CourtX2.
Uttering Threats, Assault, Assault by Choking
On September 3rd a 57-year-old male who was wanted on the above charges, of which Brandon police were notified of September 2nd, was located by police, arrested and lodged for court in the morning on September 4th, 2024.
IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)
At 7:05PM several 911 calls were received that a female was highly intoxicated and running into traffic in the 3100 block of Victoria Avenue. The 18-year-old female was arrested and lodged until sober.
Assault with a Weapon / Possessing Dangerous Weapon
At 7:46PM a call was received that a male had attacked another male with an axe in the 800 block of Princess Avenue. The attacker fled prior to police arrival and the victim was transported to Brandon Hospital with a wound to the ribs from the axe. The 34-year-old male suspect was eventually located by police in the 300 block of 11th Street where he was taken into custody and lodged for court in the morning on September 4th, 2024.
Breach of Peace
At 2:25AM on September 4th police were called to a disturbance in the 3400 block of Victoria Avenue. Upon arrival police arrested a 35-year-old male causing the disturbance and he was lodged for the night.
Robbery with a Weapon, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Assault Causing Bodily Harm
At 12:45AM on September 3rd a 911 caller advised that a known to them 24-year-old male had shown up to their house with a stab wound. The male had been at the 000 block of 10th Street when he was allegedly attacked by two males with knives/machetes. The male escaped with a broken arm and cut to his arm. The attackers had stolen his bag with medication, ID, PS4 and cash. Police shortly after located an 18-year-old male matching the description of one of the accused, when members approached, he fled on foot. He was apprehended after a short foot chase and was reportedly found to be in possession of the medication. Court date set for November 18th, 2024. Later in the day on September 3rd police identified the second suspect out front of the same location and a 22-year-old male was taken into custody. He was found to be wearing the same clothes as the previous night which police say had the victim’s blood on his shoes and clothing. He was lodged at BPS for court in the morning.
