According to a media release, the City of Brandon says its Engineering Department is continuing efforts to develop a final recommendation for City Council’s consideration on the reconstruction of 26th Street. Pending a final decision later this fall, the City says it’s anticipated the project will be tendered this winter with a spring start in 2025.

The City says “this updated timeline will allow us to ensure that all aspects of the project meet the highest standards of safety and community benefit.”
In the spring of 2024, the City of Brandon engaged with citizens on the 26th Street Project. The City hosted two in-person events, as well as hosted a survey to gather information, thoughts and ideas on this project. We received 302 survey responses, as well as comments online and in-person.
