-The Brandon Wheat Kings are home to the medicine hat Tigers on Saturday. The last time they met earlier this month the Tigers came away with a 6-1 win.
-The Brandon AAA U-18 Wheat Kings host the Winnipeg Thrashers tonight at J&G Homes Arena. The Wheat Kings are currently in 5th place in the league with 15 points.
-The Winnipeg Jets continue their road trip tonight in Columbus. The Jets beat the Red Wings 6-2 on Wednesday.
-The Brandon University men’s and women’s basketball teams play their home openers tonight against the University of Winnipeg Wesmen. BU’s volleyball teams are in British Columbia against the UBC Thunderbirds.
-At the Pan Continental curling championship in Alberta – Canada’s Brad Gushue will face the U-S in today’s bronze medal game – while Ottawa’s Rachel Homan plays China in the women’s semi-finals.
-and in the NFL – the New York Jets beat the Houston Texans 21-13.
