-The Winnipeg Jets return to the ice tonight at home against the Colorado Avalanche. The Jets are 12 points up on the Avalanche in the NHL Central Division.
-The Brandon Wheat Kings have a one-day road game Friday against the Regina Pats before returning for a 6-game home stretch. That starts Saturday when Brandon welcomes Prince Albert.
-Team Manitoba will face Ontario Red today in the quarterfinals at the 2024 U18 Women’s National Hockey Championship in New Brunswick. Manitoba finished fourth in Group B with a 1-2 preliminary round record. Ontario Red was 3-0 and first in Group A.
-The Canadian women’s national hockey team opened the Rivalry Series with a 7-2 loss to the U-S in San Jose Wednesday night. Game two goes Friday night in West Valley City, Utah.
-At the Grand Slam of Curling’s Co-op Canadian Open in Alberta – Winnipeg’s Matt Dunstone is 1-and-1 – while Reid Carruthers is 0-and-2. On the women’s side – Winnipeg’s Chelsea Carey sits at 2-and-0, while Kerri Einarson and Kaitlyn Lawes are both 1-and-1.
-and in the NFL tonight – the 6-and-3 Baltimore Ravens host the 4-and-5 Cincinnati Bengals.
