Brandon Police report they’ve identified and arrested two individuals in connection with a robbery that occurred near Brandon University on November 23, 2024.
Police say “the incident involved a 22-year-old female who was assaulted after taking the bus to Brandon University to visit friends. The suspects, a pair of males who also took the bus, followed the victim, assaulted her, and stole her phone, resulting in a fractured jaw and lacerations to her forehead.
Brandon Police launched an immediate investigation and, on December 11, 2024, were able to positively identify the suspects: an 18-year-old male and a 14-year-old male youth. Each male was located and arrested on December 12, 2024, and processed at the Brandon Police Service.
Both suspects were held in custody and had their court hearing on December 12, 2024.
The public is reassured that this was a random act and there is no ongoing threat to the community.”
