Arrest Warrant
On December 15th at 12:45PM a 21-year-old male was located by police at a residence in Confederation Bay and arrested on the strength of a Brandon Police Service (BPS) Warrant. He is held in custody with a court date in the morning on December 16th, 2024. Charges pending are Break and Enter with Intent, Possession of a Weapon and Uttering Threats.
Failure to Comply with Release Order
On December 15th at 11:25AM police were called to a disturbance in the 1400 block of 1st Street. Police say a 41-year-old male was found to be highly intoxicated and bound by a Release Order not to consume. The male was arrested and held in detention cells to be released on an Appearance Notice once sober.
Sexual Assault
After a lengthy investigation from 2023, authorization from a Crown Request was approved. Brandon Police located and charged a 30-year-old male in the 3600 block of Van Horne Avenue. He was released on an Undertaking with a court date set for February 24th, 2025.
Off Duty Officer Shot with BB Gun
On December 15th at 5:53PM, an off-duty officer reported a 28-year-old female was blocking traffic in the 800 block of Princess Avenue. Police say when he confronted her to get out of the way for traffic to flow through, she pulled a black pistol out, later confirmed to be a pellet gun, and shot the off-duty officer 4-5 times in the upper body before the officer was able to gain control of it and pull it away from her. She then fled the scene with another male and was arrested a short time later in the 000 block of 9th Street. The pistol was identified as a CO2 powered 4.5 mm caliber BB gun. The officer sustained no injuries. The female was held in custody at BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning on December 16th, 2025. Charges: Assault with a Weapon / Discharge Air gun with Intent to Wound/Maim/Disfigure X4 / Pointing a Firearm / Use of Imitation Firearm During the Commission of an Offence / Possession of a Weapon / Resist Arrest / Failure to Comply with Release Order
Breach of the Peace
On December 15th at 10:47PM BPS was called to a disturbance in the 600 block of Douglas Street. An intoxicated 21-year-old male was found to be the problem. He was arrested and held in detention cells until sober.
