-The Brandon Wheat Kings have made their first player-for-player trade this season. They sent defenseman Charlie Elick and a third-round pick to the Tri-City Americans for defenceman Merrek Arpin and forward Jordan Gavin. The Wheat Kings are in action this Friday at home to the Portland Winter Hawks.
-The Winnipeg Jets beat the Nashville Predators 5-2 to snap a three-game losing streak. The Jets play again Friday when they welcome the LA Kings.
-Canada shut-out Czechia 5-0 at the World U18 Women’s Hockey Championship in Finland. With the win, Canada finished first in Group B and will play Japan tomorrow in the quarterfinals.
-In the PWHL – Ottawa edged New York 3-2.
