Mounties say “on March 5, 2025, Jeremy Whincup, 54-years-old from Portage la Prairie was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder x 2 in relation to the double homicide that occurred in Portage la Prairie on December 1, 2024.
Whincup remains in custody along with Preston Whitford who was arrested and charged last month with the same offences.
Manitoba Major Crime Services (MCS) along with Portage la Prairie RCMP are still searching for the firearm(s) used in the offence.”
Police say on December 1, 2024, at approximately 10:30 pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP were called to a residence on Oak Bay in Portage la Prairie. Officers attended the address and located a 42-year-old male, and 37-year-old female deceased. Investigators said the male and female victims were in a relationship, and that the couple had been targeted.
