Due to warmer temperatures and deteriorating ice conditions, the public skating oval west of McGregor Avenue is officially closed for the winter season.
The skating oval, which opened on December 20, 2024, closed on Monday, March 10, 2025.
“Oval Closed” signs and barricades have been placed at the oval, and all associated flood lighting has been turned off. The Manitoba Hydro Waterfall of Lights display has also been turned off.
The city also says the warming shacks at the oval and Hanbury Hill will be closed and locked until next season.
