-The NHL Conference Finals get underway tonight with the eastern matchup between the Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers. The Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars begin the West final on Wednesday.
-Finland edged Canada 2-1 on Monday to hand the Canadians their first loss at the men’s world hockey championship. The Canadians are second in Group A with 16 points, two behind Sweden. Canada will close out the preliminary round against Sweden today.
-The Professional Women’s Hockey League Championship Walter Cup Final begins today. The Minnesota Frost meet the Charge in Ottawa.
-The Calgary Stampeders opened the CFL pre-season schedule on Monday with a 26-16 win over the BC Lions. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers play their first pre-season game this Saturday (May 24) at home against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
-The Toronto Blue Jays host the San Diego Padres.
