Breach of the Peace
On June 12th at 2:03AM Brandon Police Service received a report of an intoxicated female running in the street in the 1500 block of 26th Street. Police located the 27-year-old female and took her home to family. At 3:14 family called due to the female causing a disturbance. The female was arrested and held at BPS detention cells. She will be released once sober in the morning.
Failure to Comply Release Order
On June 11th at approximately 12:45PM a 43-year-old male attended BPS believing there was a Warrant for Arrest issued for him. The Warrant Request from the previous night had been withdrawn by Court Services and he was released via Appearance Notice with a court date of August 7th, 2025.
Criminal Harassment – Repeatedly Communicating / Assault
On June 11th at 11:30AM a female attended to BPS reporting an assault that had just occurred during an argument with her ex-boyfriend. He had blocked her exit and took her cell phone and keys. It was stated he has been harassing her over a period of several weeks. Police located the 24-year-old male in a vehicle in the 600 block of Lorne Avenue. The victim’s property was recovered. The male was arrested, held in custody and will attend court in the morning on June 12th, 2025.
IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)
On June 11th at 3:00PM Police observed a highly intoxicated male in the 900 block of Rosser Avenue. For his own safety the male was medically cleared then held at BPS detention cells. He will be released in the morning once sober.
Failure to Comply Release Order
On June 11th at 3:13PM Cadets were near the 100 block of 5th Street when they identified a 37-year-old male known to have a Warrant for his Arrest (Failure to Comply Release Order). Police attended and the male was arrested, held in detention cells and will attend court in the morning on June 12th, 2025.
Assault / Assault by Choking / Uttering Threats
On June 7th BPS members attended a home on Basswood Bay for a disturbance. No disclosures or charges were made. On June 11th at 1:54PM a female made a statement and disclosed the accused had assaulted her on June 7th by grabbing her by the throat, slapping her 2-3x, and pulling her hair. On June 1st he had also uttered threats. The male was located at his residence in the 700 block of Percy Street. He was arrested and later released on an Undertaking with a court date of August 18th, 2025.
Breach of the Peace
On June 11th at 5:00PM members were at a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue on an unrelated matter when they were confronted by a male. The male was acting erratically and persistent with his anger towards the officers. The 39-year-old male was taken into custody to prevent further escalation. He will be released once calm.
Failure to Comply / Theft Under $5000
On June 11th at 7:06PM an employee from a business in the 1500 block of 18th Street reported a suspect scanning one item at the checkout but failing to scan others. The male was identified and later located by Police with stolen food in his possession. Search upon arrest found a 5” straight blade hunting knife of which is contrary to a Release Order not to possess weapons. The 31-year-old male was arrested, held in BPS detention cells, and will attend court in the morning on June 12th, 2025.
Arrest Warrants
In the last 24-hours there were three Arrest Warrants executed. Two were released on Appearance Notices while one was held at BPS detention cells to appear in court in the morning on June 12th, 2025.
