-The Edmonton Oilers must win tonight to force a deciding Game 7 in the Stanley Cup final. They trail the defending Cup champion Florida Panthers 3-games-to-2.
-Two Winnipeg Jets have been named to Olympic team rosters. Forwards Nikolaj Ehlers (Denmark) and Nino Niederreiter (Switzerland) were both chosen by their respective countries, but goalie Connor Hellebuyck was not picked by USA Hockey after helping them to a second place finish at the 4 Nations Face-off tournament. The men’s Olympic hockey tournament begins next February.
-In the NBA last night, the Oklahoma City Thunder took a 3-2 lead in the championship final after a 120-109 win over the Indiana Pacers.
-Country star Brad Paisley will perform at the 2025 Grey Cup Festival in November. He’ll be the headliner on November 14th at Canada Life Centre. The Grey Cup game is scheduled for November 16th at Winnipeg’s
Princess Auto Stadium. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers next game is Saturday in BC against the Lions.
-In the Southwest Baseball League – Virden edged Rivers 6-5, and Oak River topped the Brandon Cardinals 11-3.
-The Toronto Blue Jays, currently in 3rd in the American League East, host the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight.
