A morning plane crash in the RM of Hanover has left two pilots dead and RCMP investigating the cause of the crash.
According to police, they got a call of a mid-air plane collision at about 8:45 AM on July 8. When they, fire personnel, and EMS workers arrived at the scene of the crash, south of Steinbach, they found the wreckage of what they describe as two small, single-engine aircraft.
Numerous media reports, including by CTV and Global, indicate the two dead pilots were students at a local flight school.
In their release, RCMP said both pilots were pronounced deceased on scene, but there were no passengers in either aircraft. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada was notified.
