Failure to Comply Undertaking
On July 13th at 6:15PM Police received a call of a male and female arguing from within a bush at the Discovery Centre. The 37-year-old female was breaching No Contact conditions with the 40-year-old male. She was arrested, held in detention cells at Brandon Police Service (BPS) and will attend court in the morning on July 14th, 2025.
Tourniquet Application
On July 13th at 6:49 PM, police responded to a call on Cornell Bay regarding a 28-year-old male with a severe laceration to his arm. The individual was experiencing arterial bleeding with significant blood loss. He had lost consciousness and collapsed, striking his head on the concrete. A BPS officer was first on scene and promptly applied a tourniquet to control the major bleeding. After regaining consciousness, the male disclosed that the injury was self-inflicted. EMS arrived shortly thereafter and transported him to the Brandon Regional Health Centre for further medical treatment.
Breach of the Peace
On July 13th at 10:12PM Police were called to the 1200 block of Victoria Avenue for a disturbance. A 38-year-old male was causing a disturbance and found to be highly intoxicated. The male was arrested to prevent further issues, held in detention cells and will be released in the morning once sober.
Theft Under $5000
On July 13th at 2:19PM it was reported that a golf cart had been stolen off a trailer parked outside a business in the 1600 block of Park Avenue. At 9:55PM police were informed that the golf cart had been spotted in the backyard of a residence in the 100 block of Frederick Street. Police attended the residence and located a 38-year-old male in possession of the keys to the golf cart. The male was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells for further processing.
Breach of the Peace
On July 13 at approximately 10:28 PM, police responded to a disturbance in the 600 block of 20th Street involving a 22-year-old male and a 24-year-old female who had recently ended their relationship. The male, who was intoxicated, had entered the residence using a set of keys he retained post-breakup. During the incident, he threw the female’s phone, though no damage occurred. No physical violence was disclosed by either party. The male was arrested for Breach of the Peace and transported to BPS detention to prevent further issues. He will be released once sober. Officers discussed the safe removal of his remaining personal belongings from the residence.
IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)
In the past 24 hours four individuals were arrested for IPDA. They will be released once sober.
Breach of Release Order – Curfew
On July 13th at 3:49AM a curfew check was conducted on a 26-year-old female in the 300 block of 10th Street. She was not home, and a Warrant was requested. At 11:10AM BPS members attended the residence once more and arrested the female for the Breach of Release Order. She was held in BPS detention cells to attend court.
Theft Under $5000 / Assault
On July 13th at approximately 12:59 PM, an employee at a business located in the 800 block of 18th Street reported the theft of merchandise valued at approximately $200. When the employee attempted to intervene, the female suspect struck the employee in the chest with her elbow. A description of the suspect was provided, and responding officers subsequently located and arrested the individual. She was later released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on September 22, 2025.
