A 32-year-old man from Brandon has died of drowning and Yellowhead RCMP are investigating.
According to a release, RCMP received a call of a possible drowning at about 11:05 PM on July 12. When they arrived at Sandy Lake Beach, Emergency Medical Services were already there and performing CPR on a male, who was later pronounced dead.
“The initial investigation has determined the victim, a 32-year-old from Brandon, along with three others, had been swimming in the lake when they noticed he was missing,” said RCMP in their release. “The male was located shortly after in the water and brought to a nearby dock where medical assistance was provided.”
Police said they will continue to investigate, but do not believe criminality is a factor.
