In the last 24 hours three individuals were arrested for IPDA.
Assault
On July 14th at 9:04 PM, police responded to a reported disturbance involving a male and female arguing at a hotel on Middleton Avenue. Upon arrival, officers determined that the 30-year-old male had struck the 28-year-old female in the eye, resulting in visible swelling. EMS attended to assess the female. The male was arrested and held in BPS detention cells. He is scheduled to appear in court the morning of July 15th, 2025.
Theft of Motor Vehicle / Mischief Under $5000
As a result of the investigation into the golf cart theft on July 13th, a 38-year-old male suspect was arrested later that evening. During a subsequent interview, he admitted to the theft. He was charged and released on an Undertaking, with a scheduled court appearance on September 18th, 2025.
Arrest Warrant
On July 14th at 11:58AM Dauphin RCMP requested BPS attend Brandon Correctional Centre to execute an Unendorsed Warrant of Arrest on a 46-year-old male. The Warrant was executed, and the male remained in BCC custody for court on July 15th, 2025.
Endorsed RCMP Arrest Warrant + Various New Charges
On July 14th at 5:07 PM, police responded to a report in the 2400 block of Ottawa Avenue regarding a female waving a knife around. The 34-year-old woman, identified as the male’s ex-girlfriend, had attempted to stab him and had also damaged a television and smashed the windshield of the 41-year-old male’s vehicle. Upon police arrival, the woman provided false identification, resulting in an additional charge of Public Mischief. She was arrested and held in BPS detention cells, with a court appearance scheduled for the morning of July 15th, 2025. Charges: Endorsed RCMP Warrant of Arrest, Assault with a Weapon, Mischief Under $5000, and Public Mischief.
