With just a few short days to go until Halloween, time is running out for deciding on a costume. If you’re still not sure what to dress up as this year, “Rolling Stone” suggests turning to the music world for some inspo.
There have been some major pop culture moments from our favorite artists this year and these ideas can help you come up with a creative last-minute getup.
- Taylor Swift’s Showgirl – Thanks to her new album, we’ll be seeing showgirls everywhere this Halloween, but those aren’t the only costume-friendly looks from her latest era. “The Fate of Ophelia” video alone has nine to choose from, including Marilyn Monroe and sparkly synchronized swimmers.
- Charli XCX and Role Model on “SNL” – An easy costume for a pair is Charli XCX’s cameo as “Sally” in Role Model’s debut on “SNL.” Find a Max’s Kansas City tee to go as Charli or cover yourself in fake tattoos to turn into Role Model.
- Chappell Roan in “The Subway” – You’ll need an oversized suit and the longest red curly wig you can find to dress up as her look in the video for “The Subway.”
- Sabrina Carpenter in “Manchild” – This video is loaded with costume inspiration, and the most recognizable is those denim cut-offs with a white button-down tied up as a crop top.
- Cardi B in court – The rapper’s looks and facial expressions while on the stand in a civil assault went viral and they’ll make the perfect Halloween costume.
- Lorde’s water bottle – Her signature, multi-color water bottle is featured heavily in her interviews & live show, but the challenge is figuring out how to turn it into a costume.
- Doechii at the GRAMMYs – From the school kid blazer and shorts to the white briefs and bra set, there are some costume-worthy looks from her appearance at the awards show.
- Benson Boone onstage – The singer has given us no shortage of chest-bearing ‘fits this year, just don’t forget your ‘stache.
- Addison Rae in “Headphones On” – Looking at the audience at her shows, a lot of fans already grabbed a pink wig and purple hoodie to recreate the look from this video.
- Katseye’s Gap ad – Look no further than their viral Gap ad for a group costume for your girls. All you need is your favorite denim, and learning their “Milkshake” dance wouldn’t hurt.⠀
