Two people, a man and a woman from the RM of North-Cypress-Langford, are in custody after a months-long Brandon RCMP investigation uncovered over $150,000 in stolen property, some of which, according to police, was stolen as far back as five years ago.
In a release, RCMP said the investigation stems back to a call they got on November 3 at about 8:30 am about a theft from a property just outside Brandon. The victim told them between the evening of October 31, 2025, and the morning of November 1, 2025, various pieces of construction equipment (including a skid steer and cargo trailer) were stolen from an area off Provincial Road 270 and Highway 1, north of Brandon.
“The investigation led officers to a residential property near PR 270 and Road 87 West where they located the stolen skid steer,” RCMP said in their release. “A male and female on the property were arrested without incident.”
According to police, Brandon RCMP along with Manitoba RCMP Police Dog Services, later searched the entire property and located multiple stolen items. This included a snowmobile, utility trailer, boat and boat trailer, various construction signs, and a golf cart.
Officers believe the value of the recovered items total approximately $150,000 and were stolen from property in and around the Brandon/Westman area as far back as 2021.
The two people arrested face 11 charges of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000. None of the charges have been tested in court.
RCMP added they are working to return the stolen property to their original owners.
