Going out with someone for the first time can be exciting and revealing, but not always in a good way. The women of Reddit are reminding us of just how bad it can be in a new post that asks, “What’s the most diabolical thing a man has said to you on a first date?” Hundreds of women have shared their experiences and these may actually make you feel better about your last first date.

- “After going on a long tangent about how special he is because he has green eyes, he turned to me and said, ‘But you’re just one in 50,000 vaginas.'”
- “That I wasn’t a ‘high-value woman’ because it was clear that I was deeply insecure…because I wore make-up on our date.”
- “One admitted he wasn’t actually a widower as it said on his profile. His ex-wife died of cancer after he divorced her. He just felt ‘widower’ sounded better and would get him more dates.”
- “He was excitedly telling me that the best part of his job, working as a baggage handler at the airport, was that they sometimes go through luggage and touch ladies’ underwear.”
- “As soon as he showed up to the date (we had met on an app), he told me (seriously) that he needed to call his mom and tell her he was safe because she was worried about him meeting a stranger from the internet. This was in 2023. And the man was 45 years old.”
- “‘What kind of nipples do you have?’ As I sat there in silence, dumfounded by the question, he proceeded to describe his favorite kind: size, shape, color, and all!”
- “‘Did you take my wallet?’ He later found it in his car…”
- “Randomly started talking about how some women have ugly vaginas. I was like, ‘Ermmmm…’ Then he said, ‘Like this one,’ and shoved his phone in my face, which was displaying a picture of a woman’s vulva. He then said, ‘It’s my ex; don’t worry,’ as if that was the problem.”
- “I want to take you to my house so you can try on my deceased wife’s clothes. I think they will fit you. She has some pretty sexy stuff.’ Last date, too.”
- “After a first date, I politely told him I didn’t feel a romantic connection. He replied, ‘It’s not like you have a lot of time left to be picky.’ I was 35 at the time.”
- “I’m a doctor and had a patient die that day, despite our best efforts. I was in no mood for the date, but I made the effort anyway. The guy was in finance. He said, ‘Okay, but me losing a client a million dollars is worse than losing a life.'”
