RCMP responded to a fatal 2-vehicle collision on the TransCanada Highway Monday morning. A northbound SUV tried to cross the highway; and was hit by an eastbound semi-trailer. A 69-year-old female driver from Melita, died of her injuries. The driver of the truck was not hurt.

It has said it would balance the budget by the 2027-28 fiscal year, but has missed its annual targets so far.

A new report says agricultural land prices in Canada continued to climb last year, but the Prairie provinces saw the highest increases. Farm Credit Canada says in its report that Canadian farmland values rose an average of 9.3 per cent last year. Manitoba saw the highest increase at just over 12 per cent, with Alberta and Saskatchewan also seeing big bumps. The Crown corporation says the Canadian farmland market remained resilient despite trade uncertainty and cost pressures.

Students from A-C-C Celebrated a major victory on the weekend.
4-students and their 2 Instructors together won the inaugural “Prairie Certified Crop Advisers Agronomy Competition” at the Vic Inn. They earned top marks in all 5-competition categories, collecting more than $47-hundred dollars in prize money.
