Arrest Warrants
Over the past 24 hours, five individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants. Of those, three were held for court on the morning of April 16th, 2026, while two were released on Appearance Notices with future court dates.
One of the individuals, a 27-year-old female wanted for two counts of Failure to Attend Court and Breach of Probation, resisted arrest. Upon being taken into custody, officers located a multi-tool knife on her person. While undergoing medical clearance, the female spat on an officer. She was subsequently taken to Brandon Correctional Centre (BCC) and incurred three additional charges: Resist Arrest, Possession of a Weapon, and Assaulting a Peace Officer. She will attend court in the morning on April 16th, 2026.
Theft Under $5000
On April 15th a BPS officer attended BCC and arrested a 20-year-old female in custody on two Theft Under $5000 charges. (One from a local clothing store and one from a convenient store). The female will appear in court in the morning on April 16th, 2026.
Theft Under $5000
During a traffic stop on April 15th a suspect was identified from two separate thefts from a local grocery store. (April 10th for $335 and April 12th for $385). The female was arrested and later released via Undertaking with a future court date of June 25th, 2026.
Stolen Vehicle Recovered
Police received a call notifying of a vehicle that appeared to be abandoned and left on grass on Agnew Drive. The vehicle was on file as stolen from a Souris RCMP file. The vehicle was towed to BPS for ident and RCMP were notified.
Protective Detention & Care of Intoxicated Persons Act (PDCIPA)
In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested for PDCIPA. They were brought to BPS detention cells and will be released once sober.
Breach of the Peace
In the past 24 hours two individuals were arrested for Breach of the Peace. They were brought to BPS detention cells and will be released once sober/calm.
Gun Shot Through Neighboring House
At approximately 5:10 a.m. on April 16th, Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of 5th Street following a report of gunshots and a suspected bullet hole in a residence. Officers attended and assessed the direction of the damage. Loud crashing noises were heard from a nearby residence, which was identified as the suspected source.
Police established a perimeter and called for occupants to exit. A male subsequently came to the front door, behaving erratically and failing to comply with police directions. He was safely apprehended and arrested.
An RPAS unit was deployed to clear the residence by drone, followed by officers. No additional individuals were located inside. A rifle was located within the home.
The 29-year-old male remains in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
