The Montreal Canadiens and Buffalo Sabres will head back to Buffalo all tied up at two wins apiece in their best-of-seven series after a 4-2 Sabres win last night. In the Western Conference, the Vegas Golden Knights now hold the series with the Anaheim Ducks in their hands as they won 3-2 in overtime to take a 3-2 series lead. The lone NHL action this evening sees the Colorado Avalanche trying to wrap up their Western Conference series against the Minnesota Wild. They lead the series 3-1 going into game five.
After an 8-5 loss on Monday, the Toronto Blue Jays tightened the gap in game two of their three-game set against the Tampa Bay Rays, but couldn’t quite break into the win column, falling 7-6. The series finale goes today at 6:07.
In the NBA, San Antonio is one win away from a series win over the Minnesota Timberwolves after their 126-97 victory last night. Tonight, the Cleveland Cavaliers will try to take a 3-2 series lead of their own against the Detroit Pistons.
Next season will see a new hand at the tiller for the Toronto Maple Leafs as they announced this morning they had relieved head coach Craig Berube of his duties. Berube was hired in May of 2024. The Leafs missed the postseason in 2025-26.
The PWHL continues to expand, with new franchises coming to both Las Vegas and Hamilton. Last week, the league also announced Detroit would have a new franchise for the 2026-27.
