UPDATE: Fatality Crash at 110 Intersection and Richmond Avenue East
On May 27th, 2026, at 3:20 p.m., Brandon Police Service and Brandon Fire & Emergency Services attended to a serious motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 110 and Richmond Avenue East.
The investigation to this point has determined that a northbound semi-truck, driven by 35-year-old male Brijpal Panwar, failed to stop at the stop sign while approaching the intersection. The semi proceeded through the intersection at highway speeds and collided with a westbound SUV occupied by a lone 49-year-old female driver. The force of the collision then caused both vehicles to collide with a secondary parked semi-truck that was facing southbound stopped at the intersection. Upon arrival, first responders pronounced the 49-year-old female deceased at the scene. Her next of kin has been notified.
Neither semi-truck driver appeared to have any significant injuries. The driver of the northbound semi-truck has been taken into custody at Brandon Police Service and is awaiting court, which is scheduled for the morning of Thursday, May 28th, 2026. He was arrested for Dangerous Driving Causing Death.
